ACS Inclement Weather Policy

by
Kody Ford

As the weather gets a bit wild this Feburary, our upcoming screenings and education programs may be threatened. We wanted to let everyone know about our inclement weather policy. Here it is:

ACS Inclement Weather Policy

Arkansas Cinema Society (ACS) follows the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA) inclement weather policy, as AMFA serves as our primary venue. This policy may affect ACS classes and screenings.

Weather-Related Closures

- For real-time updates on weather-related closures or schedule changes, please check ACS social media channels, and the ACS website

- When AMFA closes due to inclement weather, all ACS events scheduled at the facility will be rescheduled or cancelled accordingly.

Event Rescheduling and Refunds

- We will do everything we can to reschedule an event if it is affected by the weather. For rescheduled events, existing tickets will be honored for the new date. Ticket holders will be notified of date changes via email, and the updated information will also be posted on our website and all social media channels.

- If an event is cancelled, ticket holders will receive a credit for the full ticket amount, which can be applied as credit towards to any future ACS screening, event, or educational program (unless otherwise stated).

- Please note that rescheduled screenings or events due to inclement weather or emergencies beyond our control, all tickets are non-refundable. Thank you for your understanding that ACS is a non-profit organization, and due to various upfront costs associated with organizing events, we regret that we are unable to offer refunds at this time.

Emergency Cancellations

AMFA management maintains final authority regarding event cancellations or delays due to emergencies, including but not limited to:

- Tornado warnings

- Public safety emergencies

- Facility damage

- Other unforeseen circumstances beyond AMFA's control

At  ACS, we believe that if we provide filmmakers an arena to exhibit their talents, and film enthusiasts a healthy diet of quality programming, we can inspire more Arkansans to make and watch more films. By supporting filmmakers, festivals, theaters and young people interested in filmmaking throughout the state, we hope to create statewide network, pool Arkansas’s resources and be an umbrella organization that feeds all things film. We believe a rising tide lifts all boats.

connect to create.

To be a filmmaker, we have to connect to create. A painter needs a brush, paint and a canvas. A director needs a writer, a cinematographer, a sound mixer, production designer, editor, actors, distributors, and an audience. We cannot do it alone. This art form forces one to collaborate and thus, creates jobs. Filmmaking is unique in the arts in this way. It takes an army.
