Tembi Locke

Tembi Locke is a New York Times bestselling author, producer, and screenwriter whose work centers on love, loss, and resilience. Her memoir, From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home, was a Reese’s Book Club pick and an instant bestseller, and an Audie Awards and Goodreads Best Books finalist. In 2022, Tembi co-created and executive produced the award-nominated and global hit Netflix adaptation of From Scratch, based on her memoir, starring Zoe Saldaña. Upcoming, Tembi will make her audiobook debut with Someday, Now, via Simon & Schuster in September. Someday, Now is a companion piece to From Scratch and touches on themes of possibility, navigating the in-between, motherhood, and “re-nesting.” As a nationally recognized speaker and podcast host of Lifted, which just wrapped it’s third season, Tembi’s work has received wide-spread media attention from outlets like The New York Times, NPR, and Essence Magazine.
