2022 Kaleidoscope LGBTQ+ Film Festival by Central Arkansas Pride Set for In-Person Programs

by
Kody Ford

The 8th annual Kaleidoscope LGBTQ+ Film Festival by Central Arkansas Pride is returning in-person in 2022 at the Argenta Community Theatre! Kaleidoscope celebrates the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and filmmakers by presenting poignant and thought-provoking films documenting LGBTQ+ lives truthfully and with respect. The festival exhibits the power of film to transform lives and opinions of those both inside and outside the LGBTQ+ community through the universal medium of the cinema. In addition to film screenings, this year’s festival will feature panel discussions, workshops, and evening parties and events.

“We are thrilled to bring high quality LGBTQ+ films and programming to Arkansas,” said Central Arkansas Pride’s Executive Director Zack Baker. “We strive to bring a lineup of thought-provoking films from all across the globe that explore the issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community here and abroad. We are returning to in-person programming in a big way and can’t wait to enjoy these films and events with the community again”

The festival will be held from May 19th-21st. More information on ticket sales and events will be coming soon. You can follow Kaleidoscope on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for news and updates.

At  ACS, we believe that if we provide filmmakers an arena to exhibit their talents, and film enthusiasts a healthy diet of quality programming, we can inspire more Arkansans to make and watch more films. By supporting filmmakers, festivals, theaters and young people interested in filmmaking throughout the state, we hope to create statewide network, pool Arkansas’s resources and be an umbrella organization that feeds all things film. We believe a rising tide lifts all boats.

connect to create.

To be a filmmaker, we have to connect to create. A painter needs a brush, paint and a canvas. A director needs a writer, a cinematographer, a sound mixer, production designer, editor, actors, distributors, and an audience. We cannot do it alone. This art form forces one to collaborate and thus, creates jobs. Filmmaking is unique in the arts in this way. It takes an army.
