Matthew McConaughey: Your Questions Answered

by
Lillie Peterson

Hi friends! See these four faces? Congratulations, you're looking at the entire Arkansas Cinema Society “customer service” team. That's it. We are them.

We are thrilled, beside ourselves really, to have such incredible interest in the upcoming Matthew McConaughey visit! Can you believe he is coming to Filmland (we still can't believe we get to type that sentence), and the four of us are doing our absolute best to answer every single inquiry. Confession time: the demand has been a little overwhelming, in the best possible way. We love you. We love that you love this. We also have exactly 330 seats and four sets of hands, so if we're a beat slow getting back to you, please don't be mad at us! And try to remember this is extremely good news, and scroll down for answers to your most-asked questions.

When and where is it?
Friday, August 14, as part of Filmland 2026 in Little Rock at AMFA.

When do tickets go on sale?
In three waves, in this order:

  • Sponsors go first, noon CST Tuesday, June 23 through noon CST Thursday, June 25. Want in this early? Become a sponsor here
  • Members are next, noon CST Thursday, June 25 through noon CST Friday, June 26. Become a member here
  • Everyone else, starting noon CST Friday, June 26.

Where do I actually buy them?
At filmland.org when your window opens!

Will you tell me when tickets are on sale?
We will! Head to arkansascinemasociety.org and sign up using the little bar at the very top of the page, right above Matthew's face. We'll make sure you know the second tickets go live!

How many tickets can I buy?
Up to 4 total. Now the slightly nerdy part. During the presales, sponsors can grab their discounted tickets and members can grab their one ticket, and that's the limit for the presale window. Then on Friday at noon, sales open to everyone (sponsors and members very much included) to scoop up any remaining tickets, up to that grand total of 4. We have such a limited number of tickets and we are so lucky to have so many incredible sponsors, members, and supporters we have to cap it to make sure we are as inclusive and fair as possible! Please have mercy on us!

Does being a sponsor or member guarantee me a ticket?
It gets you in line ahead of the general public, which with 330 seats is a very good place to be standing! It's first come, first served though, so even with early access, the early bird gets the McConaughey. Our advice? Join us, and maybe set a tiny alarm.

Can I just become a sponsor or member to get early access?
Yes! Honestly, that's kind of the whole point, and we'd be so happy to have you. Sponsor here or become a member here.

Does volunteering guarantee me a spot at the event?
We love our volunteers with our whole hearts. We can't promise event access in exchange for volunteering this time around, but when we're filling volunteer roles for this one, the people who've shown up for the most Filmland shifts are first in line. So sign up, dive in, and let those shifts stack up!

Will there be tickets at the door?
With only 330 seats, we're expecting a sellout, but any seats still available on the day of the event will be sold in a rush line at the door. Show up, cross your fingers, bring snacks for the wait.

Is there accessible seating?
Yes, absolutely. Reach out to us a info@arkansascinemasociety.org and we'll make sure you're all set.

Will there be a meet-and-greet?
Honestly? We have no idea yet! The moment we know, you'll know. Pinky promise.

How much are tickets?
Final pricing is still coming together, and we'll announce it about 48 hours before they go on sale. It's on the way, we promise!

Wait, who are those four people in the photo?
Glad you asked! That's Cade, our Managing Director. Lillie, our Director of Operations & Filmland Producer. Kathryn, our Executive Director. And Dillon, our Director of Hospitality. That's the whole crew, waving at you from this very photo. Hi!

Thanks for being so patient with your tiny but mighty ACS team. Now go become a sponsor or member so future-you has a fantastic seat. See you August 14!

At  ACS, we believe that if we provide filmmakers an arena to exhibit their talents, and film enthusiasts a healthy diet of quality programming, we can inspire more Arkansans to make and watch more films. By supporting filmmakers, festivals, theaters and young people interested in filmmaking throughout the state, we hope to create statewide network, pool Arkansas’s resources and be an umbrella organization that feeds all things film. We believe a rising tide lifts all boats.

connect to create.

To be a filmmaker, we have to connect to create. A painter needs a brush, paint and a canvas. A director needs a writer, a cinematographer, a sound mixer, production designer, editor, actors, distributors, and an audience. We cannot do it alone. This art form forces one to collaborate and thus, creates jobs. Filmmaking is unique in the arts in this way. It takes an army.
